NBA Players With Earrings

In continuing our theme on NBA players and their personal styles and preferences, we’re going to take a look at some of the best NBA players with earrings. And although, per the NBA’s own rules and regulations, earrings aren’t allowed to be worn by a player during a game, many current and former NBA players can be seen wearing an earring both before and after an NBA game.

And although earrings and other forms of jewelry are not allowed to be worn during a game, many NBA players dabble in differing styles with earrings and other forms of jewelry.

Often seen as a way to showcase their newfound wealth, many NBA players will purchase luxury earrings, jewels, and necklaces to accentuate their lifestyle and fashion choices.

Below, we’ve compiled the best NBA players who wear earrings. And while some players on this list will come as a surprise, many of them have been seen and photographed with their earrings on.

Michael Jordan

Any conversation surrounding the greatest NBA players of all time will invariably include Michael Jordan, the reigning greatest basketball player of all time.  And while Jordan may be better known for his buzzer beaters, NBA Finals championship wins, and otherworldly dunks, Jordan has been seen sporting an earring look long before it was considered cool.

Drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984 NBA Draft, Jordan has a long list of accomplishments and accolades to his basketball resume.  A 6-time NBA champion, 6-time NBA Finals MVP, 5-time NBA Most Valuable Player, 14-time NBA All-Star, to name just a few.

Kobe Bryant

Many conversations surrounding the all-time greatest NBA players will argue who comes after Michael Jordan.  And although our list is a bit more specific, only looking at the best NBA players with earrings, we would still include Kobe Bryant as second to only Jordan.

The late NBA superstar was the epitome of basketball greatness for a generation of basketball fans.  With an internal fire and drive unlike any other athlete, Bryant strove to greatness through sheer will and determination, quipping, “everything negative – pressure, challenges – are all an opportunity for me to rise.”

And although Bryant, the so called ‘Black Mamba‘, was taken from us too early, his style of play, determination, and mamba mentality continue to have a profound effect on both the NBA and basketball players across the globe to this day.  An inspiration and role model for so many, Bryant in our books is one of the best NBA players of all time.

Dennis Rodman

Much has been written on Dennis Rodman, one of the most controversial NBA players of all time. But few can deny that Rodman had a style all his own. With some of the best hairstyles of any athlete, Rodman reimagined personal style and did so in an eccentric manner.

And whether you love him or hate him, few can deny the influence Dennis Rodman had on the NBA. Nicknamed ‘the Worm’, Rodman was best known on the court for his fierce defensive and rebounding abilities.

Rodman played the small forward position before becoming a power forward. An NBA All-Defensive First Team seven times, Rodman also won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award twice. Instrumental in helping Michal Jordan and the Chicago Bulls cement their dynasty, Rodman was unlike any other player to play in the league.

Kevin Garnett

Kevin Garnett is arguably one of the best power forwards of all-time. Spanning a 21-season career, Garnett played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Boston Celtics, and the Brooklyn Nets. Dubbed the “Big Ticket” and “KG” for his dunking abilities and athleticism, Garnett would enter the league in 1995 as the fifth overall pick.

And although Garnett would help the Minnesota Timberwolves to eight consecutive playoff appearances, he was unable to win a championship with them. Rather, when traded to the Boston Celtics in 2007, and playing alongside Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, he would secure his one and only NBA championship.

Dwayne Wade

Having spent the majority of his 16-year career in the NBA playing for the Miami Heat, Dwayne Wade is no stranger to fashion and easy living. A three-time NBA champion, Wade was also a 13-time NBA All-Star, an 8-time All-NBA Team, and a 3-time member of the All-Defensive Team.

In addition, Dwayne Wade is the Heat’s all-time leader in points, games, assists, steals, shots made, and shots taken. Having had a successful college basketball career with the Marquette Golden Eagles, including leading the team to the Final Four in 2003, Wade would be selected fifth overall in the famous 2003 NBA draft.

LeBron James

What hasn’t been written about LeBron James that we could add? One of the all-time greatest basketball players, LeBron James has won four NBA championships, four MVP awards, four NBA Finals MVP awards, three All-Star MVP awards, and two Olympic gold medals.

In addition, James has scored the most points in the playoffs, the second most career points, and the seventh most career assists.  He has been selected an NBA All-Star 18 times and to the All-NBA Team a record 17 times.

And not only does LeBron James sport an earring, he also made our list of the top NBA players with beards!

DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins currently plays for the Denver Nuggets and is nicknamed ‘Boogie’. Having played for the Kentucky Wildcats, he was an All-American in 2010. However, after playing at Kentucky for just one season, he became eligible for the NBA and was drafted by the Sacramento Kings with the fifth overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft.

DeMarcus Cousins would be named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and from 2015 to 2018 would be named an NBA All-Star. In addition, he is a two-time gold medal winner as a member of the United States national team, winning his first at the FIBA Basketball World Cup and his second at the Rio Olympics.
