What is NBA 2K?

NBA 2K, and more specifically NBA 2K22, is a basketball simulation video game which is developed by Visual Concepts and published by the 2K Sports company.  Based on the National Basketball Association, it is the 23rd installment of the franchise and the subsequent version following NBA 2K21.

NBA 2K22 was released on September 10, 2021, and is available for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation 5, the Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S.

In addition, on October 19, 2021, NBA 2k22 Arcade Edition was released on the iPhone for its slew of Apple Arcade games.

NBA 2K22 has received generally favorable reviews from critics and remains one of the best basketball simulation games currently available.  in addition, the game, for the first time in the series, features six different cover athletes.

The standard editions feature Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, the 75th Anniversary Edition features Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of the Los Angeles Lakers, Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks, and Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets.  The special WNBA 25th Anniversary Edition features Candace Parker of the Chicago Sky and the Japanese box art features Rui Hachimura of the Washington Wizards.

However, with NBA 2K22 having been released for nearly half a year now, the expected release date for NBA 2K23 is sometime in September 2022.
