Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant played one season of college basketball for the Texas Longhorns, and was selected as the second overall pick by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2007 NBA draft.
He played nine seasons with the franchise, which became the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2008, before signing with the Golden State Warriors in 2016, winning consecutive NBA championships in 2017 and 2018.
After sustaining an Achilles injury in the 2019 finals, he joined the Nets as a free agent that summer. Durant is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

An eight-time NBA All-Star, he has also been named to four All-NBA First-Teams and for NBA All-Defense Teams. And, in just his first season with the Lakers, he would win an NBA championship.
Anthony Davis played for the venerated University of Kentucky in college and was named to the first team All-American and the Consensus National Player of the Year. In addition, he led the NCAA in blocks and set the record for freshman single-season blocked shots.
After playing college basketball for just one year, he entered the NBA draft and was selected as the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft by the New Orleans Pelicans.
Willis Reed
Willis Reed was a former NBA player, coach, and general manager. Having spent his entire professional career in the league with the New York Knicks, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1982.
Named to both the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History and to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, he was a two-time NBA champion, a 2-time NBA Finals MVP, and named the NBA MVP in the 1970 NBA season. In addition, he was named to the NBA All-Star Game seven times and won the NBA All-Star Game MVP in 1970.
Kevin McHale
Kevin McHale was born on December 19, 1957 and is a former NBA player, coach, and analyst who played his entire NBA career with the Boston Celtics. Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, he is considered one of the best power forwards to play the game.
In high school, he was named Minnesota Mr. Basketball and attended the University of Minnesota, where he was named to two first-team All Conference teams. Selected third overall in the 1980 NBA draft by the Celtics, he would play a pivotal role coming off the bench and would twice be named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year Award.
George Mikan
George Mikan was born on June 18, 1924 and passed on June 1, 2005. One of the absolute best players and 6’10” players to play in the league, he was nicknamed “Mr. Basketball”. Seen as one of the pioneers of the modern game, Mikan redefined what it meant to be a big man and was a prolific rebounder, shot blocker, and had a knack for shooting over smaller opponents.
In fact, George Mikan was so fundamentally sound in basketball that an entire form of practice, so called the Mikan Drill, was named after him.
Jarrett Allen
Jarrett Allen is one of our favorite players if, for nothing else, his signature afro styled hair. Currently playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Jarrett Allen payed college basketball for the Texas Longhorns and was selected 22nd overall in the 2017 NBA draft by the Brooklyn Nets.
Playing for the Nets at just the age of 19 years and 182 days, he was the second youngest player to ever play for the team. However, he would be traded from the Nets for the superstar deal which landed James Harden to the team.
