As the weather gets colder, for many of us, hiking can become more and more difficult to complete. And although you may not be able to get out on the trail, you can still live vicariously through other hikers, particularly those who post their hikes and outdoor adventures on YouTube.

Darwin on the Trail
Started in 2014, Darwin on the Trail is a husband-and-wife YouTube channel that reviews gear, posts videos of their latest trails and hikes, and provides inspiration for your next hike. An incredibly inspiring channel, Darwin and his wife sold 95% of their material items, quit their jobs, and began living out of their van.
In addition to gear reviews, Darwin on the Trail’s channel posted their completion of the Appalachian thru-hike, a journey of over 2100 miles.

Trekking Pals
Trekking Pals is a YouTube channel following two amateur hikers, Habiba and Alex. They post weekly content featuring their latest hikes, guides and tips to help you on your next hike, and advice on planning your next adventure.

Follow Bigfoot
The Follow Bigfoot YouTube channel was started in 2016, when John Muir. Decided to vlog his 100-day Appalachian Trail thru-hike. Since completing the Appalachian Trail, John has dedicated the channel to helping upcoming thru-hikers on how to plan, prepare, and get motivated for their next thru-hike.

We absolutely love Nikola Horvat – Tesla’s YouTube channel. With videos exclusively about hiking, planning for a hike, and awe-inspiring videos of the great outdoors, this channel features stunning, high-quality shots and videos of trails around the world.
Currently Nikola Horvat – Tesla’s YouTube channel has just over 10.7k followers on YouTube, but you can count us as a dedicated follower.
Kraig Adams
Although Kraig Adams lives in New York City, he takes frequent trips to some of the most remote parts of the world for his hiking adventures. And although many of his hikes are done with a group, he is also an avid solo hiker.

The Outdoor Gear Review is a YouTube channel started by Luke, a self-proclaimed lover of the great outdoors. While his videos typically touch on “best of” lists, he does so in an honest, direct, and transparent manner. The Outdoor Gear Review channel showcases gear the Luke actually uses and shows his viewers both the pros and cons of any piece of equipment.

Hiking with Gus
If you’ve ever thought about hiking or exploring the great outdoors with your four-legged friend, then Hiking with Gus is the perfect YouTube channel for you. Gus is a cattle dog, and he is prominently featured on the YouTube channel as they hike through the wilderness.

Chase Mountains is a YouTube channel that helps hikers with their strength and conditioning before and after a hike. The channel also provides timely advice on hikes and inspiration needed to both begin and complete your next hike.

John Kelley’s YouTube channel is chock-filled with gear reviews and recommendations on the best gear for your next hiking adventure. We love this channel as John is one of the most honest, direct, and funny reviewers on YouTube.
