While not every gym will have a basketball court, generally, the big-name ones will.  This includes your local LA Fitness, Equinox, Life Time, YMCA, 24 Hour Fitness, and Gold’s Gym.  Generally, however, gyms such as Planet Fitness, Crunch Fitness, Anytime Fitness, Blink, Snap, and YouFit do not offer basketball courts in their facilities.

Lakewood Community Center Adult Basketball Leagues

The Lakewood Community Center has an adult basketball league.  With two seasons, either in the summer or the fall, the league plays for either 12 or 10 games.  And both leagues run single elimination post season tournaments.  For both leagues, the season will be played on either a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday. 

Shurney Legacy Center Adult Basketball League

The Shurney Legacy Gym has three separate adult basketball leagues.  The leagues are run in the winter, summer, and for industrial industries, which is meant for company teams and coed ones.  The winter season is 10 games long, with both the summer and industrial league having 8 games.

Each league must have a minimum of eight teams.  The industrial league is played on Tuesday afternoons, between 3:00-6:00 PM.  The winter and summer leagues play on Monday and Thursday nights between 6:00-10:00 PM.

Athens Park and Recreation

Athens Park and Recreation offers youth basketball for the citizens of Athens.  The primary goal of the league is to offer a safe and fun environment for children to enjoy the sport.  In addition, children will be taught the fundamentals, basics, and rules of the game.

The Athens Park and Recreation league is offered to children between the ages of 5-16.  4-year-old. Children are permitted. To join and play, so long as they turn 5 by December 31st.

Birmingham Sport & Social Club

The Birmingham Sport & Social Club offers adult basketball leagues.  An adult basketball league, they have options for men’s, women’s, and coed teams.  In addition, each game has a dedicated referee, great basketball courts, and experience levels for all individuals.

Included in the registration is 7 regular season games, with the top teams qualifying for the playoffs and championship games a Birmingham Sport & Social Club team shirt, all essential equipment, and weekly gym rentals.

Over the Mountain Basketball

Over the Mountain Basketball is a competition-based basketball league for boys in 3rd through 6th grade.   Started in 1996, the league provides an opportunity for more highly skilled basketball players to prove themselves in a competitive basketball league while preserving community recreation and fun.
