Top Qualities of an Ideal Man

Many of us reading this want to be an ideal man.  But what does it mean to be an ideal man?  An ideal man varies from person-to-person, but some basic qualities extend between each person’s definition.  Below, we are going to discuss the top qualities of an ideal man and help you reach your own ideal man.

While the definition of an ideal man varies from person-to-person, there are basic, self-evident ideals which are typically agreed upon.  We are going to discuss those ideals in the hope that they will make not only a better man, but also a better human in general.

Before we jump into the top qualities of an ideal man, we will discuss the pitfalls to avoid in order to reach this ideal.  In order to be an ideal man, not only will you need to reach certain attributes, but you will also want to avoid certain ones as well.

Pitfalls to Avoid to Being an Ideal Man

The inverse of an ideal man is one who is focused on the short-term.  It is a man who is willing to cut his nose to spite his face.  An ideal man looks towards the future and prepares himself for it.  A man who is not ideal, that is, a man who is selfish, does not consider the impact of his actions and the consequences for his actions.

If you are looking to be an ideal man, you should have a concern for others.  You should be caring and generous.  Selfishness is a telltale sign of immaturity and is not an ideal nor an attractive trait.  The ideal man is not abusive to anyone in any manner.  The ideal man is fulfilled in all aspects that he undertakes.

The man who is not ideal is one who handicaps himself.  It is one who does not challenge himself in any manner, whether it be mentally, physically, or emotionally.  The ideal man has ambition, whereas the man who is not ideal lacks ambition of any sort.  He is content where he should not be.

In addition, the not-so-ideal man does not love himself or others.  He lacks pleasure, introspection, knowledge, and optimism.  He has no will to try and it shows.  He is a wallower and not a doer.  The not-ideal man is sad without trying to be happy.  He is angry with no attempt to release his anger.  He is misfortunate with no one to blame but himself for his own misfortunes.

How to be an Ideal Man

Being an ideal man is being a man you would want to be friends with.  It is being someone who makes the world a better place, without the need for recognition or thanks.  The ideal man is comfortable in his own being and body that no deterring words can knock him down.

The ideal man is grateful.  He is gracious.  He is understanding and empathetic.

Think about the men you know in your life.  Think about the men you respect.  What qualities and traits do they possess that makes them admirable?  Are they the richest?  Are they the best looking?  Are they the strongest?  An ideal man is able to possess admirable qualities without being the best at any one.  Not because he is incapable, but because he is self-fulfilled.

Character and Integrity

While character and integrity can be seen as two separate qualities, they tend to go hand-in-hand when discussing the aspects of an ideal man.  An ideal man has both character and integrity in the way he handles himself, in the way he presents himself, and in the way he manages his intimate, personal, and professional relationships.

A good character simply includes the ability to be seen as trustworthy, honest, and respectable.  Good character is seen as a basic need for an ideal man and one that would be remiss without.  In addition, integrity simply includes the ability to be trustworthy.  A man with integrity acts right and does right by others, no matter the circumstance or consequence.

Intelligence and Knowledge

One of the top qualities of an ideal man is both intelligence and knowledge.  The ideal man is both intelligent and knowledgeable in his actions and in his life decisions.  An intelligent man makes decisions based on all the facts presented but also takes into consideration the consequences of his actions.  He does not act irrationally and is motivated by his intelligence to ensure that the actions he takes are best for himself, those around him, and his future.

Motivation and Ambition

An ideal man is motivated and is ambitious.  He works hard to provide for his family and is motivated to ensure that they are provided with the best of his abilities.  An ideal man does not blame others, nor is he demotivated by minor, short-term setbacks.  Rather, he has both the motivation and ambition to make the best with what he is given and to give it his all.

Maturity

Too many men are immature.  They are immature with their friends, with their family, and all too often with their significant other.  Immature men show off, they are scared of the future, are unable to commit, and are naïve to the needs of others.  An immature man is the polar opposite of an ideal man.  Rather, an ideal man is mature and self-fulfilled.  He puts away the teenage boy jokes and ruses and acts in a respectable, honest manner.

Conclusion

While the prospect of being an ideal man may seem scary and off-putting, it need not be as difficult as one may imagine.  While we aren’t saying you’ll be an ideal or perfect man overnight, by taking into consideration the attributes above, you’ll be able to reach a more ideal state of manhood in no time!

In addition, it is important to understand that within the framework of an ideal man, there really is no one standard. An ideal man is whatever you view of being ideal and you should work towards those frameworks and ambitions.
