Where do the Los Angeles Lakers Play?

The Los Angeles Lakers currently play at Arena, which is located in Downtown Los Angeles. Formerly known as Staples Center, the naming rights were acquired by in December 2021.

One of the most hallowed and revered arenas in the NBA, Arena is also the home arena to the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, the AFL’s Los Angeles Avengers, and the NBA G League’s South Bay Lakers. In addition, fellow NBA team, the Los Angeles Clippers, share usage of the arena for their home games.

For basketball games specifically, the arena is capable of holding up to 19,067 individuals within its 950,000 square feet. And, standing at 150 feet tall, Arena typically jaunts out from within the surrounding area, though there are a number of much taller buildings and skyscrapers beside it.

At a total cost of $375 million ($610 million in 2021 dollars) to build and construct, Arena was one of the most expensive basketball arenas and continues to be one of the most revered and admired halls in all of basketball.

What to Wear to a Lakers Game

While we’ve previously discussed the different clothes to wear to a baseball game, basketball games, being indoors, tend to be a bit easier to dress for. Typically, we like to wear either jeans or athletic pants to the stadium, either of which are comfortable and can keep us a bit warmer when the arena is colder.

However, to really showcase your fandom and support of the Lakers, be sure to wear a top that is either a mix of purple, gold, or black. As those are the classic Lakers colors, wearing a top portraying either one of those colors will help you to blend in better with the crowd and the other Lakers fans.

And while a Lakers jersey is always a great option to wear to a Lakers game, we understand that authentic jerseys can be prohibitively expensive. As such, we always recommend shopping around for replica jerseys or team memorabilia shirts.

One great, and rather unique, option is this Bryant Forever Farewell Tribute Retro Baseball Jersey. Designed in the same style as a baseball jersey, it pays homage to the Lakers great and does so in a respectful and rather sophisticated manner.

Alternatively, you could always just go for a simple Lakers t-shirt. We really like this one by Adidas, featuring an all-gold background and the classic Lakers logo on the front, it will easily showcase your fandom and support for the team.

Similarly, this Ultra Game NBA Women’s Soft Mesh Jersey T-Shirt has been in fashion for the past couple of years now. An all-black background with the Lakers logo on the front, the shirt features the Lakers classic purple and gold colors on the ends of the arms, closer to the shoulder, for a bit more flair.

Again though, it is not necessary, though recommended, to go to the game with Lakers colors. Similarly, it is not necessary to wear an authentic jersey to the game, so don’t think that you have to shell out hundreds of dollars for one.
